Thank you PPT Tim,

The age of conquest is a bygone era. While I understand the need for military bases which is not what this law is cracking down on, the time of being the World's policeman is over, and if we feel the need to have territories or remain in a region for whatever reason, the people there should at least have voting representation.

Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands, Micronesia, Guam, Marshall Islands, and Palau. This bill would also give voting rights to any occupied territory in any country it invades if it is still there during an election cycle.

Hawaii is a state

There was a time when it wasn't a state yet. There really is no difference between Hawaii and "Samoa" when it comes to whether it's occupation or not. And besides many of those territories wouldn't be able to survive independently.

But my point is being a state or not being a state isn't the definition of whether something should be considered occupied or not.

You do have a point in what you say & state, but it isn't fleshed out well and it's just a lot more complicated.

players registered in those territories (aside from micronesia, marshall islands and palau) can vote, I assume that already meets the criteria. And the 3 others are UN member states.

First, I do fully support the idea of withdrawing military occupation from any nation or territory that does not approve of said occupation. I would, however, recommend that a request be submitted to the White House to follow-up on the Based Act, and review which military bases are presently active and, therefore, will be affected here.

Next (and I understand it has been several years since this passed), the former territories of the Atlasian Virgin Islands, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and Atlasian Samoa have already been granted statehood per the 2019 Statehood Acts. Puerto Rico is already integrated as a state since the Fifth Constitution went into effect. So, as far as territories are concerned, the above would not be affected by this bill.

Quite incredible that Laki's thinking is completely correct here and most of the Senate has decided not to listen to it anyway.

This bill literally has no effect. We've already given up all annexed territory (I signed that!), withdrawn basically all our troops, and most of the military bases that haven't been closed yet are already on the chopping block and passing this redundancy of a bill would tie up that effort with more administrative headaches. None of our "territories" need saving from "imperialism" the way this bill purports to do.

Is this just going to take up space on the books to make Peace and the Senate feel good about themselves? Lest anyone forget, CM already passed a very substantial bill that does most of what he's trying to do here.

Quite ironic that most of the aye voters also attempted to annex Greenland less than a year ago.
