In the event of mass deportations of undocumented immigrants by a Republican Administration, it is basically impossible that there won't be at least a few "false positives", or cases of people who are here legally being deported anyway, either because they are mistaken for somebody else, due to a clerical error, or even deliberately by a bad actor.

My question to you is, what is the "unacceptable" percentage of false positives? Meaning what is the cutoff to where you would stop supporting mass deportations if you knew that it meant that this % of innocent Americans would be mistakenly deported.

No one with a working brain actually wants mass deportations (yes this means Trump does not have one). Mass deportations would be unworkable, impractical, illogical, etc., it would just end up as a mess frankly. I don't think anyone actually supports this policy as opposed to just saying they support it to make themselves feel good about "solving" immigration (which frankly is an issue way down the list of issues that actually need to be dealt with).

"False positives" are not a practical or ethical barrier to mass deportations, no matter what that means.

Trump wants to return to the Eisenhower era - Obama deported more people in each of the first two years of his Presidency than Eisenhower deported in 1954, and way more than in any year under Trump. (most of which, in both cases, were not technically deportations but self-deportations)

Granted, the comparison with Obama is not necessarily fair, as it doesn't take into consideration illegal entry or visa policy, which will affect how leaky the system is.

It’s not hard to implement a system that minimizes this :

1. Immediately deport anyone you catch illegally crossing the border . You don’t need a hearing for this as you literally are seeing them illegally cross the border so just put them on a plane back to Mexico

2. Build the wall to stop Fentnyl

3. Require people to show their citizenship or residency status before getting any government programs

4. Heavily penalize employers who hire illegals . The fine to the company should be “the amount they saved by hiring an illegals immigrant * 5)

5. Require all asylum seekers to wait outside the country while their applications are being processed .

6. Have a first term Obama style policy on deportations for the rest
