Why did his campaign do so poorly in the primary??? I know his own family wasn't excited about his run, but why did this former Governor's primary end up failing so miserably?

Isn't this warning enough?

This is the most excited that anyone has ever been about Bobby Jindal:

He was the very first candidate to puff out his chest and get in Trump's face. It didn't go well, and he was the first scalp of the whole primary season because of it.

He was one of many governors and didn't stand out or have much name recognization.

Also, Louisiana is not a "big state" by any means and outside of New Orleans, rarely is mentioned at a national level.

If Jindal had made it any further, Trump would no doubt have come up with a colorful nickname, like “pitiful Piyush” or something.

The Republican electorate was never going to nominate a brown man with Indian heritage

Not in 2016 with Jindal, not in 2024 with Haley

Indians currently have a majority of the non Trump support in the Republican primary.

Haley has 12% nationally, basically tied with DeSantis

You can word it anyway you like to make Haley look more popular. But Trump has 60% support, having a majority of 40% is worth anything

There's also Ramaswamy. As for 2016, Carson at one point was tied for first with Trump.

Carson is black, not brown. Huge difference (I am brown)

The GOP was not (and still isn't) ready to nominate someone who isn't White.

See: Iowa, 2024
