Biden's getting a lot of heat from this even from congressional reps who have supported funding Israel. Pretty interesting.

This video is going around. You can quibble with the details, it does make him look hypocritical.

Yeah it's very funny that the US president has an international pass to strike any enemy, wherever they want, without declaring war and with no real consequences.

Considering they attacked a US ship, Biden has the right to attack them back.

Yes. Disrupting international trade and attacks against ships deserve an determined answer to the aggressor.

Of course. Henceforth and until they get the memo, every Houthi attack on any ship should be met with an immediate counterattack (including the taking out whoever committed the attack and also extracting an additional price from other Houthi targets).

No. The situation in Yemen has already been awful for years and these strikes are only going to compound the problem. In addition I have serious doubts that these will do anything to stop the Houthis from disrupting trade in the region.

Deadly and useless.

Yes (sane); my gripe is that this took way too long. But now that it's happening I'm all for it. For most of the congresscritters complaining, the gripes are procedural rather than substantive. I'm sure that some (Massie, Tlaib, Cori Bush) etc this is not the case, but they are surely a small minority.

Biden needs to bring before Congress and the American people the argument for these strikes, what their scope is, and what he expects them to accomplish. Until then I am unconvinced.
