Not only should tobacco advertising be banned, tobacco in general should be banned.

That would work about as well as Prohibition.

And no, definitely not.

While I support Free Speech, I do think that any product which has legal restrictions on use, should have advertising restrictions.

This includes, but is not limited to: tobacco, alcohol & prescription drugs.
This would also help keep the cost for prescription drugs down.

I don't think prescription drugs should be advertised either. That kind of defeats the whole point of them being prescription only. Doctors should make prescriptions based on what the best drug is, not on the patient nagging them because of a good ad.

Plus the US and New Zealand are the only two countries in the world that allow prescription drug advertising.

Although I will say that there would be better results if perscription drugs were not allowed to be advertised, I think a better solution would be to not allow them to fund the FDA and keep neutrality in the regulatory agencies.

I suppose you're right, but in an ideal world it would work.

That's like saying communism would work in an ideal world, but here in the real world it's always disasterous. Ideal worlds don't exist, so talking about them is largely pointless.
