He is far, far from compelling enough to deliver this dreadful sentimental drivel convincingly. What an atrocious public speaker. And all of it while being covered in rain and with "Things can only get better" playing in the background...

Bringing up the smoking ban as a highlight of his tenure is so sad and desperate, wow.

Sunak just listing all the things he utterly failed with as his accomplishments should be taught in marketing courses

Lol drenched in rain with Labours de facto campaign song in the background.

Bringing up the smoking ban as a highlight of his tenure is so sad and desperate, wow.

A sign of a man whose advisers can’t seem to tell him no.

If it sticks it'll probably save hundreds of thousands of people from painful premature deaths. Genuinely a worthwhile policy.

I don't entirely disagree, but I'm not sure the British public feels the same way and it's a difficult selling point. Perhaps I'm wrong.

No, but obviously the idea is insane.

Well great, now my family and friends will be wondering why I'm so distracted from my hot dogs and the fireworks show, while I'm furiously refreshing my phone browser waiting for the returning officer for Harpenden South East to arrive on a small stage 5,000 miles away.

Just seeing Sunak he might actually sink the boat deeper. Is there no one who can at least stablise the situation?

So now we have two Harry Hayfield-sponsored 2024 General Election threads. Interesting. Will pretend that the larger, older one is just the speculation thread while this is where all the actual election action happens, though.

This thread's title doesn't even indicate which country it is.  I agree it should be deleted or merged with the previous one.
