I like Metric a lot so I voted for Emily Haines and might well still have voted for her even if given more options, but the poll is missing vast swaths of Canadian music. Even if you're just doing female vocalists, Joni Mitchell? Loreena McKennitt? Alanis Morisette? Diana Krall? And those are just ones who are household names (in some circles) in the US and come to mind off the top of my head.

I don't know who half of these people are. Of the options, Peaches of course, though she is just as much of a rapper.

Two of her best songs are "Diddle my Skittle" and "Slippery Dick."
