I'm increasing feeling this way, and that their progressivism is actually a plus in the general election because the economic conditions will be so bad that people will want change.

If somehow Haley wins the republican nomination and then the election, surely.
If Trump wins the election, maybe.
If Biden wins the election, only if
... he goes that way and the economy is doing well by 2028
... he goes the DLC way and the economy is doing not that well by 2028 and republicans are hurting themselves with moderates in some isssues
