back in 2002, incumbent Senator for Minnesota Paul Wellstone tragically died in a plane crash. This left a vacancy not only in the seat, but on the ballot — Wellstone’s seat was up that year and he had been running for re-election. so, the DFL chose… Walter Mondale to take up the mantle as candidate.

it was a quite close election, but Mondale lost. what do you think would have happened had he won?

Realistically? He'd probably just serve one term and be done with it.
