I have lived approximately 80% of my life in Missouri. I was born and raised in St Charles (city) and lived in St. Charles County most of the first 40 years of my life. I love the music and theater scene in St. Louis. I love the state parks such as Elephant Rocks SP, Tom Sauk Mountain SP, Johnson's Shut-Ins SP, and Onondaga Cave SP. I love restaurants such as Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston and Missouri Hick BBQ in Cuba.
Although I currently live in Illinois, I am only a four-mile drive from the Jefferson Barracks Bridge, and I often go shopping at stores and eating in restaurants in South St. Louis County. I still follow the politics of Missouri even more than I follow the politics of Illinois.
Today I went to both of these restaurants again. I had a late lunch at Lambert's followed by dinner at Missouri Hick BBQ. The whole trip was almost exactly 371 miles and it lasted about 9.5 hours! I drove on certain stretches of road I had never been on before (to get from Sikeston to Cuba). Both meals were worth it!
