SENATE BILL

to reinstate vital regulations whilst increasing funds for parents of newborn children

Be it enacted,

Section I: Reinstate

1. Title II§5 and III§8 of SB 112-44 Dumb Regulations Repeal Act 21 are hereby repealed.

Section II: Reform

1. SB 113-22 Better Baby Box Act shall be amended as follows:

1. $360 $800 million shall be appropriated to provide baby boxes to eligible parents of newborn children.

2. All parents of newborn children born in the Republic of Atlasia shall be eligible for this program. if the family's total disposable income is less than $150,000.

Section III: Implementation

1. This act takes effect immediately.

This bill seeks to repeal the following language from SB 112-44:

TITLE II: PAPERWORK AND RECORD-KEEPING

5. The Let Them Do Their Job Act is hereby repealed.

TITLE III WORKPLACES AND TRAINING

8. Sections 3, 5B, and 6 of the Walter Reuther & Cesar Chavez Solidarity Act are hereby repealed.

The Let Them Do Their Job Act removed restrucitons on the CDC and NIH regarding research of gun violence. The sections of the Chavez Act targeted by Title III-8 pertain to the legalization of solidarity strikes when union members vote more than 50% in favor, the prohibition of employers meddling with organizing efforts, and the mandating a minimum of one trade union rep be permitted to sit on a company's directorial board.

Furthermore, this bill increases the amount designated to parents of newborn children by the Better Baby Box Act, and expands this program to ensure everyone can be eligible regardless of income. Seeing as these boxes store very basic objects like a changing mats, thermometers, and hooded towels, I do not think it is appropriate to means test.

My BBB Act was (1) aimed at low-income families, and (2) based on an actual real-world program that aimed to lower infant mortality among low-income families.

This is only a rude approximation of the kind of natal care that rich parents can access, there's no need to give this to them. Especially not for free.
