This proposal will raise the federal minimum age over the course of three years to $19.50. This was designed to be a gradual change, and should help low-income workers endure inflation, high prices, and the decreasing value of the U.S. dollar.

I do, which is why I support a sensible increase of the minimum wage.

What's not sensible about a wage the benefits all Atlasians?

The Senator from Virginia is presenting an amendment that would make the bill ridiculously impractical as an obvious attempt to kill the bill. Therefore, Article 3 Section I of the SOAP, I hereby strike the amendment from the queue. This decision may be overridden by the signatures of six senators.

What is the maximum amount you'll allow under the rules and how did you come to determine this?

I'm not convinced you'll actually vote for the bill, regardless of what we put forth. I will not seek to give you intelligence on exactly what level of dilatory tactics I will allow. If this is policy you actually do support, I challenge you to get six senators to post here asking to override my decision.

So you admit you don't have a valid reason to abuse your position?

I asked you a genuine question, and you're outright admitting that you aren't interested in representing the well being of Atlasians

Everyone including Labor agreed $15 was fine two years ago, at a time when workers really needed a wage hike coming out of COVID. What's the justification for $19.50 now?

It's not radical to believe that the wage should be gradually increased until it reaches $19.50 in 2026. Basic living costs have only increased in the last three years, and the present amount is no longer suitable to cover an adequate standard of living in much of the country. And as a side note, the previous wage increase legislation was not unanimous, passing 4-2 in the House.

Aye, though I'd prefer an index to cost-of-living and inflation.
