Joe Biden started as the strong front runner, because of his support from older black voters. 11 debates later, he was the nominee. This despite doing a poor job in about every debate or being a nonfactor.

Who ever wins the older black vote, wins the nomination. Period. Older black voters are the most important part of the Democratic base and they made up their mind long before the first debate.

So...what was the point? I was a Bernie Sanders supporter and I knew the debates didn't matter, the results of the early states did. Even than, the results of Iowa and New Hampshire meant nothing in hindsight.

How much time was speant on single payer healthcare? Something that was never going to pass.

Push Biden leftwards and be less Republican, also this is the only time since 1992 where Iowa didn't predict the nominee...to say nothing of Hillary being the expected winner of the black vote until Obama won Iowa in 2008.

While SCOTUS did kabash it, the loan forgiveness wouldn't have happened without Bernie at all.

On the flipside, Biden might've found a better VP pick if Harris hadn't hit the spotlight.

Bad debate performances was the main reason why Biden faded so much in the first couple of states and was left for dead until South Carolina. If he were good then he would have probably sewn up the nomination even earlier.

So bad debate performances slowed him down, but didn't change the final results

Pumping out more ratings for cable news. Same with the ongoing go-nowhere GOP debates over who will lose to Trump the least in the primaries next year.

Ridiculous. The last time primary debates mattered was 2008

Primary debates are television events held mostly for the sake of promoting the party.
