Before Trump, the answer was pretty clearly not but not now, I am not so sure. Realistic answers now range from "Probably Not" to "Maybe".

I fail to think why Republicans wouldn't fit on ID which has the AfD, Lega, FPÖ and PVV or even on ECR which contains Vox and the Sweden Democrats

Ideologically they fit in best within the spectrum of ECR. Too ethnically diverse for ID, but too nationalist to fit in well with EPP. If they were NI it would just be because of internal disagreement over who to join.

MAGA wing would be NI, but traditional establishment wing would be in ECR grouping.  Some maybe EPP but at national level almost none of those left.  New England state GOP only place you might have some.
