Inspired by a recent exchange between Forumlurker and Fuzzy Bear.  Part of my support of American nationalism is the appreciation of the melting pot as being what defines American culture as JFK once believed. However, many nationalists including Fuzzy Bear disagree with me. But what do you think?

It's a nation of whoever was lucky or unlucky enough to be born within in its borders, or move there. Nations as a concept don't really exist without people to perpetuate their existence

...how in the world are these mutually exclusive?

The whole point is that America is a nation that made immigrants into citizens, to a historically unprecedented degree.
