Well, it's the end of the world.  The AntiChrist is coming - I agree w/ Straha.

Just up the punishment a lot and let the parents deal w/ it if their kid is in jail for 10 years.

How did the kid harm anybody else except himself by taking drugs?

He's like being drunk - he could harm someone.

could/would/should

If someone plays blackjack, they could loose all their money
If someone visites a prositute, they could get an STI
If someone watches porn, they could get an erection

Fact of the matter is despite all the 'coulds', why should that be any reason to make a law against the action.

For a moment, let's say that I think using an online forum could ruin your vision in the long term, why shouldn't I (if a congressman) draft a bill that forbids you from using the internet more than one hour a day?

It's a basic freedom that people have-vices should not be considered crimes.  If you want to ruin your life, feel free but don't try to dictate mine on poor reasoning and a matter of could/should/would.  This is probably the worst argument you've ever posted on here.

People on drugs don't usually hurry and hand in their drivers' licenses.

Should alcohol be illegal too then?
