A time traveler tells that former President Donald Trump—the 45th POTUS—will NOT be the 47th. Trump will still reclaim the Oval Office in the future though, but as the 49th President.

What happened?

Biden is re-elected next year but needs to leave office after starting his second term, Harris serves for a while but then decides to resign so her VP takes over, and Trump runs again in 2028 and beats Harris's successor.

Biden and Harris are both impeached and convicted. Mike Johnson becomes president, names Trump VP, and resigns.

Biden is replaced by HRC, who finally wins the 2024 election by a hair and is forced to resign due to health reasons. Trump beats her VP and successor in 2028.

Biden suddenly dies in December of 2023. Harris gets sworn in as POTUS, and she appoints Andy Beshear Vice President (with Senate approval). Democrats convince Harris to resign and let the new President Beshear run for a full term, for the sake of electability—but Beshear nonetheless gets defeated by Trump in the general.
