FWIW I'd vote yes if we'd got another referendum, but not with a great amount of passion.

Whether it'd pass is another question. I think Australia becoming less white helps compared to 1999 - certainly it seems like hardcore monarchists are on the way out - but there's still a really significant small-c conservative political culture here that would be easy to target in a scare campaign and a lot of feeling about "why do we need a referendum for this?"

I think this should be left to the people of Australia. As an outsider looking in, I'd support the idea, however I'm not educated on whether or not Australia admires the monarchy in the same way as a country like the UK does.
