This is a super tiny, quasi-rural town in far northern Fulton County, on the border with Cherokee (and with a small portion in Cherokee). It voted Biden in 2020, but notably it also voted for Obama in 2008. Why?

no clue, but there was a tornado that came through in May of 08. Maybe some sort of localized disaster response bump? Or slump for Rs if they botched it. KY-GOV shows that sort of thing can cause big swings, and in small communities like this even moreso. That's just a shot in the dark though.

According to wiki it's a wildlife refugee and also had a pretty bad Tornado in 2008 which both could've contributed to it voting for Obama.

The issue is it's so small, even census data may not really be able to pick up on any sort of differences when it comes to race/education/age ect that could have an impact.

Also when you're dealing with a community so small (barely over 500 votes were cast for Pres in 2008), the presence of any small sort of sub-group within the community can have a notable impact and be enough to flip the precinct.
