Can Jeb Bush (or for that matter any other member of the Bush family) ever be elected president again? I vote no. W has damaged the Bush name too badly. In 10 years when Bush is universally regarded as a failure, the Bush name will have become a political albatross around the necks of all those who bear it.

I voted maybe.

Right now, no, he won't become President. But in 2008, if a republican wins, he might be able to get a Cabinet position, and prove himself better than his brother.

Who knows what the future holds for him, but right now I say nope.

Jeb Bush is already more popular than his brother and his dad is still very popular.  I voted maybe.  In a few years, Jeb's son George P. Bush, might get into politics or perhaps, just perhaps, Jenna and Barbara, current first children, though I doubt.  Jeb Bush handled the Florida Barage of Hurricanes in 2004 and 2005 remarkabley well, a sharp contrast to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and most recently, the Greensburg, KS tornado.

He failed the people of Greensburg by investing too much equipment in Iraq.  Gov. Sebelius was absolutely right in her comments about the national guard situation.

Unlike the Kennedys were the well has run dry, The Bush family has plenty of rising stars that will become prominet in the Republican part of the next 20 years, However I put maybe for jeb.

I don't think Jeb has a viable chance in either of the next two elections but I wouldn't rule out any of the younger generation of the Bush family.

I think Jeb Bush is the strongest GOP candidate against an incumbant President Clinton or Obama in 2012.

Remember that in 1992 Bush pere got a smaller percentage of the national vote than Goldwater did, but, eight years late Shrub got both nominated and elected.

Jeb is a lot smarter than his brother, and a disasterous Democrat President could pave the way for his nomination/election.

Another Republican Presidential nominee with the last name of Bush would be a dream come true for the Democrats.

Simple slogan:
"While Democrat X is running aganst my brother, I'm running for America!"

4 years of Hillary might mean a good opportunity for a Democratic candidate. However, the Bush name is still going to be cursed in the GOP in 2012.

It won't happen, especially if Hillary becomes president. Then, it will be like this:

Bush (89-93)
Clinton (93-01)
Bush (01-09)
Clinton (09-13)
Bush (13-)

Now imagine if Hillary and Jeb were elected to two terms. Tongue

If the Bush name isn't cursed by 2012 and the Democrats are in the Oval Office, then he has a good chance to win the GOP nomination then. But, I highly doubt this is going to occur so, in short I voted NO.

I would say no simply because I don't see the general electorate wanting another President whose last name is "Bush" any time soon.

He would've lost to Nelson.

The GOP didn't pick up ANYTHING in 2006. If they did pick up something, it wouldn't be with someone named Bush.

I honestly think that Jeb could have become Senator in 2006. At the worst, I think he would have kept Nelson to a  51-49 race.

Take it from someone who was talking to many Floridians just a month ago...they love Jeb Bush. You would almost never know his brother is an unpopular president.
