An interesting attempt to frame your actions in a positive light, but all you did was point to a provision that actually failed to specifically and effectively exempt Laki. You then voted against the repeal that Laki actually wants.


Cool story. Still interesting that Laki jumped on me specifically for something I've never offered any support for, I suppose calling responses to offensive caricatures of my position an "interesting attempt to frame my actions in a positive light" is the hip thing to do now.

Unfortunately a President's redraft is not amendable. It appears the language of the redraft, *read in full*, is calling on the school, etc. to have a clearly defined strategy to enforce a policy relating to ChatGPT with a clear set of punishments. The vagueness alleged appears to be overstated.


Should the redraft be rejected, and a vote to override either fail or not be asked for (the Sponsor, Lord Richard, has 96 hours to decide which he wants to have voted on first), then it would be in order to motion to resume debate on the bill.

The interpretation by the PPT is correct. I aimed to ensure that schools would have clear protocols for dealing with plagiarism violations, especially as you get to individual confirmed or suspected cases. The text as passed seemed a bit too cut-and-dry with prohibition and what that could mean for students.
