Today Mainers will vote on a number of referendum issues but chief among them is Question 3 on whether to create a public owned electrical company "Pine Tree Power" to buy out our two privately owned ones. And Question 4 on requiring Auto manufacturers to provide diagnostic information to all repair shops and not just dealer affiliated ones.

Additionally, Maine's power companies have issued a counter-referendum of sorts, Question 1 which would require any public owned utility company to seek voter approval before taking on $1 billion in dept. This is essentially an attempt to sabotage question 3 even if it passes as it would essentially require a second referendum before Pine Tree Power can force any buyout.

Maine will really f**k up if they pass Question 3; thankfully, it seems pretty unlikely that they will.
