George Wallace?

Also, Bill Maher actually voted for Dole because he thought it would be the last time he could vote for a ww2 veteran for President (and that he knew he would lose)

It's weird because he just said on a recent podcast that he voted for Clinton in that election. I'm not sure if he just forgot who he voted for or what.

Honestly if I was gonna vote against Clinton because I wanted to vote for a WW2 hero, I'd rather vote HW 92/Clinton 96 than the other way around.

I did see HW's casket lying in state in DC shortly after Dole famously visited. I had to make do with a makeshift "suit" and lousy shoes based on what I had on me when I rushed over there. But I don't regret it at all. My name is forever in the logbook of those who visited. I understand why Maher might have voted for Dole; my respect for the Greatest Generation is off the charts.
