This surprises me unless it was because he admired Carter for his character and religiosity. Even if he had hard feelings against Reagan for running against his dad a few cycles earlier, I'm surprised he would've chosen Carter over Anderson in 1980.

Also, wasn't Mike Pence a Dem until the early 80s?
I doubt Trump voted for Carter or Bush in '92 for that matter but Pence did admit to volunteering for Carter's 1980 campaign and becoming a Republican because of Reagan so he'd fit into this category.
