But he answered the question without mentioning 9/11 at all

Should we give him a cookie for that?

Well, seeing as Rudy was acctually there and it is considered the "defining" point of his leadership by most... and we have a President who wasn't there who hasn't shut up abotu it for 6 years... and Romney used it to get cheap political points already...

yes

Brownback clearly believes America should be a theocracy.

Giuliani is reminding me of what Obama did. He's playing it a little mellow but he isn't making any major gaffs. On the whole though, these Republicans certainly look lackluster compared to the Democrats.

...which is really saying something.

18 months before the election, this factor isn't that important. I don't think anyone Democrat or Republican is going full speed ahead...save Ron Paul...

Seems like a bunch of sandbagging by the major contenders.

Tancredo wants to pardon Libby? Ugh, I'm so embarrassed that he's representing my district.

Gilmore is doing pretty well. Too bad his record is weak.

Yeah, he looked exhausted and scripted.

One of the guys on MSNBC called McCain "Popeye."  What the hell does that mean?

I honestly can't come up with a ranking to differentiate between them.

-Romney was the classical politician trying to be all things to everyone.

-I'm biased about Paul cause he represents my views the most, I thought he did a good job, but like I said I'm biased.

-Tancredo did not strike me as the hardcore conservative that I thought he was. I thought Brownback and Huckabee stood out more as conservatives.

-McCain, Paul, and Giuliani I think struck me as the most distinct in their views compared to the other candidates.

-I forgot Duncan Hunter and Gilmore was there.

Of the Big Three candidates for the Republicans, if I pick one of them in a primary, I'd still pick McCain.

My rankings:

1 ) Huckabee - good delivery, moderate mainstream conservative positions
2 ) Gilmore - Also strong delivery, no nonsense.
3 ) Giuliani - He defended well his record without being on the defensive

4 ) Romney - No real content, but his performance could look good for people not that informed
5 ) McCain - looked robotic, really bad at the beginning - got better towards the end

6 ) Brownback
7 ) Thompson - interesting on Iraq

8 ) Hunter
9 ) Tancredo
10 ) Paul - dismal

Newt is having his own debate on FOX.  MSNBC is still picking on McCain.

I thought he was pretty horrible. He seems very, very unlikeable.

I think Hunter and Brownback were the top two.

Now that you mention it, it makes sense in a way. That means if he's the nominee, it'll be easy to paint him as the bad guy to voters.

I'm ready to declare a win on behalf of Rudy.  Of the big three he was certainly the best.  He didn't waver on his record.  He didn't pander.  He wasn't as clear as he could have been, because he kept getting cut off by time restrictions, but at least that shows people that he has more to say.

Thompson did fairly well in the bottom teir.
