While policy wise I might in the end favor Badger, you can't compel me to vote against a post-Soviet king such as Восемь, especially given differences in the pair's personal styles.

I realized this was for a governors race and not national, even so I think Vosem manages to make it extremely close just by being himself and presumably shooting himself in the foot on something like social security or healthcare. Badger still loses though due to the partisan lean and the timing, but if this took place back in 2018 Badger wins. It’s probably Vosem+5, which is a pathetic performance for a Republican in Ohio in 2023.

Just curious why you think the Republican base would hate him? I mean, anyone outside the Republican or hardcore conservative base, sure. And he'd be a somewhat unusual candidate for Ohio but not entirely outside the mold of JD Vance, and would underperform accordingly, but not due to weakness with the Republican base IMHO.
