Maybe a conservative (but pro-immigration) retiree in the RGV who voted for Humphrey due to the LBJ machine but switched to the GOP after his former party moved leftward on social issues?

A man from Texas, Oklahoman Great Plains country, possibly northwest or central Minnesota, or the Western Coal Fields or Bluegrass region of Kentucky. Most likely jumped on the religious right bandwagon during or after the 1970s, possibly after being born again, and/or went from working class in his youth to middle class or small business owner and embraced the Tea Party in old age.

Typical boomer that was anti-war in his youth and later became more conservative, but never that interested in politics.

Lots of people lol. Just like there were lots of McGovern-Reagan voters lol

In fact, this describe most baby boomers. Liberal in their youth, conservative in old age
