There probably are quite a few Bevin-Beshear voters, given that 2023 turnout will likely be more Republican leaning than in 2019, and that Beshear will probably win by more than he did in 2019.

What type of voter voted for a governor with 20% approval, but cannot stomach a relatively generic R?

A low-information voter who nonetheless has heard of the incumbent.

Strongly pro-incumbent voters.

Someone who typically votes Republican, but is willing to give a Democratic incumbent their vote if they’re popular/have done a good job in office.

Underrated option: A racist, sorta like some of the Foster-Blanco vote in 2003 LA despite the pandering.

There have literally been some featured in Beshear ads. A lot talk about how improved the state economy is and how pro-business Behsear has been. Don't be surprised if Beshear once again cleans up in the Cincy suburbs in Thomas Massie's district (which would mean he's doing pretty well with suburban Republicans who are notably NOT Never Trump actually). He's made this campaign a very "It's the economy, stupid!" one, while the GOP has dragged it down into the gutter with fringe crap about how Beshear wants to force your kid to get a sex change and such. Beshear's classy, level-headed responses to such stark raving nonsense combined with his economic messaging seems to be working well.

As I've pointed out before, I've seen dozens if not hundreds of Beshear signs all over the state. ZERO Cameron signs.

Both my mom and dad are (or will be) Bevin-Beshear voters. Twice Trump, will vote for him again over Biden, but think Cameron is too negative and that Beshear has governed effectively.

Creative (but probably stupid) Take: Somebody who lives in Graves County who is a little to approving of how he handled the 2021 tornadoes

1.  Blue dog ex-Dem who started to vote for the GOP at the state level about a decade ago but is willing to vote for Beshear as a last hurrah.
2. Moderate Republican who believes that Beshear will act as a check and balance to the Republican supermajority in that state.

The easiest answer is someone who has been perfectly fine with the state of things in Kentucky and sees no reason to change governors.

Well, it seems like there are a lot of such voters tonight.
