Thank you PPT Dwarven,

While the state of Atlasia's democracy is strong, it can be stronger. This bill will allow people to maintain the right to vote, as well as increasing the civic awareness of new/low poster voters who may be interested in participating in the civic process.

So I'm not entirely sure Section B is drafted correctly. I thought it was 15 posts to register to vote, but I'm having trouble finding the relevant statute or constitutional provision that states that (or states that it's 50 for that matter).

I believe I've found the current law on this matter:
https://talkelections.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=538675.0

Surprised it's only statute and not in the constitution but that appears to be the case.

No objection to the amendment

Did it used to be 50 or was I confusing it with 30? Either way the goal of this is to make it easier to register to vote.

As far as I can tell it was just 30.

This makes no sense. It's extremely easy to make 15 posts, and the census has always counted registrations as valid if 15 posts are made after an initial registration.

The double voting thing also makes no sense. Why do off-site only posters get to circumvent the constitution ("All posts made in the voting booth shall be considered as ballots"), and have hidden ballots that we are supposed to just accept exist? This deprives candidates of a fair audit in the event of a close election that goes to court.

How many people is this actually intended to "help"? 1? This seems like a "solution" in search of a problem that only undermines fairness and election integrity.

I support the formalizing of existing RG precedent and expanded regional suffrage but I agree that C leaves open too much potential for fraud/fake votes in a close contest.

I don't see what's special about the 10-14 post range when registrations at less than 15 posts are already retroactively activate once they reach 15.

Currently there doesn't appear to be anything in statute forcing the RG to do this, it's just that at least the last couple have done so voluntarily. This would formalize that process, at least for the 10-14 range.

OK, but – why do we need the 10-14 range to begin with?

It's five posts at most. Individual replies to the four people who helpfully drop into the thread to tell the newbie that you need 15 posts to be valid will take up four of those; certainly if they weren't valid at the time they could easily reach validity by the time people have finished doing that. It's not hard to make an extra five posts anywhere in any case.

A final vote is beginning.

Aye. I know this bill is a bit superfluous, but it doesn't do any harm.
