Unless your a conservative/right leaner, try to keep your personal feelings about McCarthy aside. I'm just trying to get a general understanding why so many on the right dislike him. He isn't some quote on quote "rino" and is actually pretty conservative ideology. We aren't taking about a Chris Christie, Mitt Romney, Adam Kinzinger types. The GOP only controls one branch of government, so I'm not really sure what the hardcore far right people expect.

What is their beef/hate with him? Why do they dislike him?

There are similarities and differences to Ryan and Boehner.

Similarities:
Caving to Democrats on all important high profile issues.

Differences:
Not on the Liberal Republican side.

Ryan was not from the moderate or even liberal Republican wing lol . He literally was someone who was put up by the tea party as someone they would support to replace Boehner which is why he was made speaker to begin with .

He wasn’t even forced out by them , as he just didn’t want to run a minority party so he just left . Ryan was an extremely ideological speaker and basically used the job to pass his agenda

No one liked his agenda, he left because he couldn't even win his own primary.

Caving or negotiating? GOP doesn't have the senate so what do the hard right people expect? Did Dems ever "cave" to the GOP on anything?

Better question, why do they target him? Because is a weak leader.

The far right/MAGA hate McConnel just as much but he is too strong. The only Republican in the country who can stand up to their leader.

He seems to do all he can to please some of these people and yet they hate him even more for doing it.

1990's Hillarycare, 2009 Single Payer Option, 2003 Iraq, the patriot act 2001, wealthfare reform 1996. Probably others.

Can't think of anything from 2010 onwards though.

A perception that there is a gap between the statements of republican leadership promising cuts to spending and limited government and the continued growth of government spending and government.

I genuinely think a big part of it is just that he is a pathetic weakling who has repeatedly shown he lets others bully him around, it makes him a very easy target to further right people who like portraying themselves as alpha male gigachads.

They're mad that he can't make Republicans control the Senate/White House through sheer force of will.

When push comes to shove, so is Donald Trump.
