He was on antidepressants. I wouldn't be surprised if the antidepressants made him do it. But you'll never hear this angle from the right-wing media.

Anyone remember about 10 years ago when there was some kid in Florida who was about 10 years old who went completely batty and attacked the police after he was given antidepressants?

Found the link (so the thought police can't accuse me of making it up):

http://scholar.lib.vt.edu/VA-news/VA-Pilot/issues/1996/vp960309/03090428.htm

And you don't for one moment want to entertain the idea that perhaps what led to the prescription of Prozac was also what led to the observed behavior?

You don't give someone Prozac just for the heck of it.

Has anyone found a source which said the killer was definitiely on anti-depressants? I have seen some which suggested it but none which positively said he was. This has been a common thread in a number of these mass murders. That really needs to be investigated. It may be that the drug is not the cause of the rampage. Maybe its just the underlying problem for which the drug was prescribed. But on the other hand maybe it is the drug. Its also possible that the drug is being prescribed where something else is needed. Anyway when you see a strong correlation between the drug and mass murders it deserves investigation.

This dude definetly had problems larger than a love for Counter Strike years ago. Clearly there was something not quite right in the head of this man.

I honestly don't see how he was 'crazy'.  Nothing about his behaviour suggests hallucinations or delusions, just somewhat unusual choices.

A failure to care for and to treat people with mental illness correctly. The U.S seems to be even worse than the U.K for this; "congratulations", that's a pretty impressive feat.

Yeah, he was so poor that his sister attends Princeton.

If you'll notice, my statement is not dependent upon a presumption that he is poor.  I merely stated surprise that more poors don't go shoot up whoever they resent, and then kill themselves.

Actually, if you go read the news it's usually the middle class/upper middle class person that snaps due to job/marital stress and goes shooting up everything. Truly poor people are used to living on the edge and get used to it.
