The President has nominated Cosmo Kramer to the post of Secretary of External Affairs.  Questions of the nominee may be proposed here.

How would you rate your performance in your last cabinet position as Attorney General?

And do you feel that said performance adds or detracts to the reasons why you should be confirmed?

I thank the President for his nomination of me and the Senate for giving me the opportunity to testify today.

I have never served as Attorney General.

The Senate confirmed you as Attorney General.
You set up an office of the AG, and in the same thread resigned the position immediately after the then Chief Justice Emsworth said that you were open to impeachment - which was almost inevitably forthcoming.

I believe in second chances and I believe President Afleitch would only pick an experienced candidate, however, I would like to know more about the AG scandal

Constitutionally, I was never Attorney General  (I did not take the oath of office subsequent of the Senate's confirmation of me).

I did set up a joke thread inside the government forum entilted "Office of the Attorney General" as part of a joke by President Porce against a few dumb-witted Senators.

What are your thoughts on the United Nations?
Overall, it is a positive force in this world.  I see no need with withdraw our membership or a major portion of our current funding from the organization at this moment.  However, we do need to release an ultimatum to the organization demanding reform lest we start to take action.

I am discouraged so far at the nominee's support of the United Nations but now I will ask another question:

Do you support the increase in funding to the United Nations?  and How do you plan to help handle North Korea?

Not unless a specific cause that merited it popped up.

I can't say without anything having been released by the GM on that matter.  I'd have to know the current atlasian situation.

If the Senate will permit me, I will speak a bit further on my thoughts on one matter related to the United Nations, which I didn't have time to speak about earlier (if not, the following can be stricken from the record).

To some degree, I don't believe the United Nations is effective enough with regards to military action, because of the system and the influence that realpolitik plays into the decisions of individual counties means there's hardly ever a war that everyone supports.

That's why back under the Porce administration I pushed for the creation of the Global Treaty Organization.  Modeled after NATO, this democracy-only organization carries out some of the same duties that NATO does yet on a global scale.  I would work to expand the GTO, build stronger relations within it and bring more countries into the treaty.

Uh... (treating Atlasia as the US) we're the main impediment - far from the only, of course - to reform.
Which is so for a reason, of course... I forget which former US foreign office undersecretary I'm quoting here, but I swear the quote itself is accurate...
"Who after all is the UN? The UN is not the General Assembly. The UN is the Permament Five and we are the Permanent Five."

Still voting aye, btw. Wink
