The 22nd amendment is unexpectedly appealed. Obama decides to jump into the race for the Democratic nomination and convinces Biden and Harris to both step down. What does the 2024 map look like?

I'd say 2020 plus North Carolina, and Obama comes within three points in Texas. I think Obama would have beaten Trump in any election since 2012.

Having Biden (and Harris) step down would be really bad optics, like a repudiation of his administration.

This sort of thing would play better if it happened in time for Trump to face Obama in 2020.
