Yeah it just came to me. They were held from 2000-2003. The problem is that although Jefferson County, Alabama is a pretty Democratic county now, it's significantly trended that way in recent years. In 1996 it voted for Dole, and in 2000 voted for Bush. Barack Obama was the first Democrat to win it since 1952, 56 years prior.

This sucks because it had a great lineup in those days as well, and a couple months ago I was talking to a guy in a Minneapolis band who said he played there. But that would ruin all the fun!
