BREAKING: Mark Meadows has just surrendered to Georgia authorities. @MSNBC

Mark Meadows has surrendered, so a mugshot should be incoming sometime soon for him...

And Trump is planning to turn himself in a 7:30 PM, presumably EST.

There is currently no state in the country that recognizes EST. The only states that don't recognize Daylight Saving Time are Hawaii and most of Arizona, neither of which is in the Eastern Time Zone, therefore all Eastern Time states are on EDT.

I do admire some good pedantry.

Two months? Wow wasn't expecting Willis to ask for a Oct 2023 trial. Everyone was expecting March 2023 at the earliest she would even ask

She did initially, but Chesebro forced her to ask for an earlier date by requesting a speedy trial.

Why does Trump want a speedy trial in Georgia?

I know he wants to push the federal ones as far back as possible, hoping he wins re-election and can pardon himself or turn off the investigations.

Trump doesn't want a speedy trial at all. In fact his lawyer just filed a motion against it.

It was Cheesboro (or rather Cheesboro's lawyer) who wanted the speedy trial.

Harrison Floyd is the guy on the left, joining Meadows on the right.

This is going to be good. Can't wait.

I read that if Trump turns himself in after 4 pm (as he intends to do) that the mugshot won't be posted until tomorrow. Any chance they make an exception and release it tonight?

The Floyd and Meadows mug shots look like as if they were a screenshot from a gangster movie.

Floyd did not receive bond. Interesting, I wonder what makes his case different.

I've read Trump's mugshot may not be released to the public, unless something has changed today.

Apparently he assaulted an FBI agent...

Defendant in Georgia election subversion case was previously charged with assaulting FBI agent

Quote
CNN  —

Harrison Floyd, one of President Donald Trump’s 18 co-defendants in the Georgia 2020 election subversion case, was charged in May for assaulting an FBI agent who came to serve him a subpoena to testify before a federal grand jury in Washington, DC.

Floyd threatened two FBI agents who served him the subpoena at his apartment in Rockville, Maryland on February 23 by running after them and “striking” one agent “chest to chest,” an affidavit states.

Floyd, a leader of the organization Black Voices for Trump, is charged with simple assault on a federal officer.

I don't see why it wouldn't be. Everyone else who was indicted has had their mugshot released so I'm not sure what exception Trump would be.

The Fulton county sheriff said that his office makes no exception to the law, so I don't see why he should renege on his word now.

The judge goes along with DA Willis's request for an Oct 2023 trial!!!

Of course this may only apply to Chesebro in the end as other defendants move to sever their cases from his (we already know Trump intends to do so).

Wow.
I can not imagine that date is going to "stick."
Seems way too soon.

I expect it will stick for Chesebro, or maybe slip just a little.  He's the one who asked for a speedy trial, which under Georgia law requires a trial during the current or following grand jury term (in this case, a deadline of Nov. 3).  If his defense can't be ready by then, he shouldn't have requested one.  Willis called his bluff.
