I was looking at a cat while typing out this post and saying words like "angel", "baby" and "mumuface"...
I'll let that speak for itself.

We had a cat live to be 16. He was a good cat. He would catch stuff. We had another cat live to be 14.
Good cats.

It would be religiously inappropriate for me not to.

No, I am a dog person.  I am pretty tribal about it too.

I find cat to be too chewy. I prefer chicken.

But you don't like chickens as pets though.

Sure, but it's rarely a good idea to put cats and rodents within proximity to each other. Plus, I've had dogs for most of my life (and sorta do now) so naturally I prefer them to cats.

yeah, I was actually going to address that too.  While some cats will chase and a few cats will kill and potentially eat a squirrel, it's not a fight a cat is going to win 100% of the time.  Squirrel are tough as hell.  Just a ball of muscle and spastic energy.  They have to be, they live in the forest with lots of predators.

A .22 is the best way to get rid of squirrel.

I only like a certain subset of cats.

When I was a teenager, we have a Chocolate Burmese with an amazing temperament which really related to the family.

I tried to repeat the dose with a Chocolate Burmese as an adult, but that cat was a horror movie, so we dispensed with it.

I wouldn't mind them as pets if they could be litter trained and not noisy.

I like them better than dogs, which isn’t saying much. I’m fine with either of they generally leave me alone and don’t cause trouble. I’m not allergic to cats at least.

Yes, I've had quite a few cats and dogs throughout my life.  Our last dog died a couple years ago and I'm not sure we'll get another one; cats are much lower maintenance.  We currently have two cats.  One of them is smart, easygoing, and affectionate.  The other one isn't as smart and is more aggressive.  He likes humans (to a point) but picks fights with the first cat.  However, the first one is bigger, stronger, and faster, so when he gets pissed off enough to respond, the second one invariably gets pounded (but never learns).

I do, but I'm severely allergic and cannot be around them. I'd definitely have one if I wasn't.

Cats are better than dogs. When I walk past a house, I don’t want any hostile animal (or human) threatening me. I also don’t like having to figure out whether something running at me is friendly or vicious. If there is an animal in someone’s yard as I’m going for a walk, it’s okay if it just gets scared and runs away. Ideally, it would just sit there and stare at me.
