Before the 1990s, a number of White Zimbabweans actually joined ZANU–PF in part to ingratiate themselves with Mugabe, so this could describe a White Zimbabwean who emigrated to America after the economic/political problems of the 1990s. Actually to add onto that, I have a South African friend with a Rhodesian father who noted that he heard of even these people getting their farms repossessed, though they make up a small minority and are probably not among those in the large Rhodesian diaspora in his country.

basically just a socially conservative or wealthy Zimbabwean-American with no ties to the opposition or who immigrated to the US before the opposition started to be much of a factor in the 00s. Back in the 90s Mugabe won by big margins and got nearly 93% in the 1996 presidential election, so it's not a particularly odd thing for a Zimbabwean-American to have voted for Mugabe.
