If Trump ran and was the GOP nominee in 2012, how would the map look. This is what I think:

Trump only flips Indiana and Nebraska's 2nd congressional district, as Obama was popular and the context did not favor an outsider yet.

Agreed. The popular vote would have been similar to actual 2020. So Obama by slightly more than he won against Romney. And Trump would win Utah by an underwhelming margin.

I don’t think Trump would have won the nomination in 2012. He was more of a generic Republican in 2012 than he was in 2015 and he wasn’t the same personality in 2011 that he was in 2015 - 2023.

Also, my overall theory as to why Trump won the nomination in the first place was an overreaction to 1) the Ferguson Riots and 2) the European Migrant crisis of 2015. If neither of those things happened, Trump wouldn't have won the nomination. So in 2011 the political atmosphere wouldn't have favored him against Romney or whomever

If you thought Trump beat Hillary bad...you haven't see anything.  Does anyone remember the Real estate crash recession?Huh??  Trump gets almost all the southern states in this map, Penn, Iowa, NH, Wisconsin, Michigan, Nevada, probably Colorado and maybe Maine.
