What is Brian Kemp’s political future after he is done with being governor.

A Senate run against Ossoff, IMO.

A possible VP pick in 2028 if GA continues its D trend.

Challenges Ossoff in 2026, but only if Biden is still in the WH. Race starts out as pure tossup, though my prediction would be a VA-2014 redux.

Runs against Ossoff in 2026 and loses à la VA–2014, and then attempts to mount a run for President in 2028, may or may not win Georgia in the primaries if he makes it that far

I think he runs against Ossoff in 2026. By then, he would be term-limited and would be ineligible to run for a third term as governor, and I don't see Kemp retiring unless something major happens between now and 2026.

What about the presidency?

Kemp already ruled out a presidential bid, and even if he did run, I doubt he would make it past a primary.

I meant for 2028, not 2024.

Oh ok. In that case, I still don't think so. If he ruled out `24, I don't see why he wouldn't rule out `28 either.

He won’t be governor anymore and it’s unlikely Trump runs again in 2028 even if he loses (and impossible if he wins).

True, but Kemp wouldn't be an ideal pick for the MAGA base nationwide, and from what I'm seeing, he would have a much higher chance of winning a senate race against Ossoff than getting past a presidential election primary.

If he does run, he would probably be beaten by someone like JD Vance or Vivek Ramaswamy in the primary.

Retires to Athens and lives out the rest of his days watching UGA football.  Kemp has never shown any ambition for D.C. and, even if he did, Marty wouldn't stand it.

2026 is going to be an interesting year for the GA-GOP.  My predictions are Chris Carr for governor and....Drew Ferguson for senate?  They will each beat more Trump-aligned candidates in the primary.

Both Kemp and Cooper have made clear moves indicating Senate runs in 2026.
