Yes. No breakdowns, no mosh parts, and no twinkle guitar parts or other emo elements. Snooze fest.

styx is boring by 1978 standards but if Pieces of Eight or Grand Illusion was released now, it would be better than 95% of all stuff out there.

I voted no because they are worse than boring, but honestly they are also boring. I will add that "Mr Roboto" is an insult to fans of actual 1970s and 1980s mecha anime, like my parents.

I think every decade has one or two inexplicably hugely successful bands that nobody admits to liking but is in inescapable: Styx is just the 70s version of Imagine Dragons or Maroon 5 or Nickleback.

Not a bad comparison. I'll admit to liking some Styx songs, but I can't deny their absolute hokey nature.

Paradise Theater was one of the first albums, if not the first album I ever bought. First concert I ever went to was the Mr Roboto tour. Plus I would love to tell brtd to STFU about his obnoxious self-obsessed fixation with music which isn't that good, but even if it was 10 times better than it is wouldn't warrant the amount of wanking on about it he goes through.

But I can't. Styx is is kind of a lame band I have to admit. Renegade is a cool song. But that's arguably the only one that rises above mediocre
