King didn't seem to be too terribly interested in office... I think he would've eventually run for something, but nothing further than Governor.

He would have had a tough time winning anything other than a majority-black House seat, especially in Georgia. He was not terribly popular among whites before he was martyred.

I would guess no.  He had more of a forum being Martin Luther King, Jr. than being one of 435 members of the House.
