It's been like 18 years since they released anything good...but actually this definitely is good. And better than the original.

Sorry but this version is terrible for the simple reason that its chronology becomes more and more totally random as the song goes on.

I haven't listened to it and don't have any interest in doing so. Their newest album is just ok but far better than anything they've done since they came back from their hiatus.

Not a fan of how random it is in that, yeah, though I like how it fits verbally, ignoring that.

I had this same exact feeling about FOB's and Paramore's new albums this year.

I do like this song though, erratic as it is.

Paramore's new album is very high up on my AOTY list currently, I loved it. Seeing them live only made me appreciate those songs even more.

The song is terrible for not going chronologically.

Echo the above on chronology which is the most essential part of the song. I also don't think the rhymes are anything special to go with the rhythm. It's not just about shouting words. The last verse is so anticlimactic. "Prince and The Queen die / World Trade Second Plane / What else do I have to say?" is gibberish.

In 2011, I had to write and perform this in APUSH in the lull period after exams, and while I cringe in hindsight at the creative workings of my undeveloped mind, I still did a lot better than this with many less interesting events to cite than the last decade gave us.

I can't even call what they're doing rhyme crime; half the verses aren't even attempts. And yes, the fact that it was (for the most part) in order is a lot of where the fun came from in the original.
