Sir, yes, sir! If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. And unlike murderers, they actually can vote for people to make their crimes legal or less severe.

No one should, not even active prisoners.

If there’s enough prisoners to be an influential voting bloc, that’s an indictment of our society and a sign for a need for change.

Relating criminal status to voting rights in anyway gives the governing power a perverse incentive to criminalize their opposition. It should never be done - even in a hyper specific scenario like this one where the potential for government abuse is less likely than a more blanket felony ban or something, even a small risk of something really bad is not justified when there's no real upside beyond making us feel good about punishing the bad people

I'm actually partial to the view that prisoners should be allowed to vote, but for the sake of consistency, it doesn't make sense to bar non-white collar criminals from voting because "they'll vote to legalize murder" or something ridiculous. White collar crimes are obviously more complex, so it's easier to elect lawmakers who actually would make crime legal.

Should've done the poll better I guess so my bad on that

The only felonies that lead to disenfranchisement should be electoral fraud, treason, sedition and mutiny, with the latter three also being subject to the death penalty.

Felons of any stripe who are incarcerated should be denied the right to vote, those who are not should have the right, seems a reasonable place to draw the line to me.

If we're talking about being convicted of a felony, sure.
