Three other Republican candidates — Treasurer John Schroder, former business lobbyist Stephen Waguespack and state Sen. Sharon Hewitt of Slidell — all registered 6% or less in the poll.
State Rep. Richard Nelson of Mandeville, a fourth Republican candidate, was not included in the poll. But “someone else,” other than the six candidates listed, received 7%.
Wilson captured 21% of the vote, political independent Hunter Lundy scored 4%. Another 25% of those surveyed were undecided.

The poll contacted 1,600 likely voters statewide from June 12-15 through a variety of techniques and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.45%.
