If Elon Musk becomes the first man on Mars, will he go down in history over the longer term like a Jesus Christ like character?

Jesus Christ never wanted to go to Mars. And Jesus Christ never gave us any forms of transportation, albeit primitive by today's standards.

I think Elon has a case.

Even from a secular viewpoint you can easily make the case that Jesus was the most influential single person in human history (though you could also make the case for multiple other people).

There is no chance whatsoever of this happening for Musk. Even if 50 years from now everyone has Musk-made flying electric cars and he starts a massive Mars colony.
