While I would prefer to see Stein run against Robinson, I'm not 100% sure he will be the nominee.

I think there's a non-zero chance the nomination goes to Mark Walker or Dale Folwell.

Robinson is popular, but he also seems to be scandal-plagued.

I could see him losing the primary (or dropping out like Sean Parnell in PA), even if I believe he is favored.

No, but as with Sean Parnell in PA, or Trump's current national bid, the only person strong enough to torpedo his bid is Robinson himself.

He has two credible opponents in a two-term statewide official and a former congressman, so no he is not a lock. He's definitely the heavy favorite, especially with a Trump endorsement, but he's also clinically insane and an enormous electoral liability. That's never stopped GOP primary voters before though.

I think he is, GOP primary voters seem to overall have a real fondness for nutty nominees these days for statewide elections. Lake, Mastriano, David Clarke, Masters, etc.

Yes. He clears 50% in most primary polls, has Trump's backing, has most of the NCGOP's backing, has the backing of the conservative wing of the congressional delegation and is a good fundraiser. I have no idea how he could lose.

Yes. He's exactly what GOP voters want.

^As much as I hate to agree with a Nazi teenager, this is it. The NCGOP establishment has basically conceded this race to him since 2020.
