As I have taken the position of acting PPT, I would like to know, if the senate prefers Mr. R's old "vote-a-rama" system of having a bunch of final votes every week or so or the current ad hoc system of holding votes whenever. I am happy to go with whatever you prefer going forward.

Given our body's...level of activity (myself included), the vote-o-rama option makes more sense IMO. When there's 20 threads being bumped on a daily basis (and sometimes the thread titles not being updated), it makes it disproportionately more difficult to keep up with current events and needed interference from Senators.

IMO, "Vote-a-rama" is fine as long as people are notified.

Vote a ramas seem fine for final votes, while amendment votes should be held whenever amendments are proposed to legislation.

Mr. R's system was better. The current one is just very scattered and hard to keep up with, so people miss more votes.

The old system worked OK when there was a clear expectation in each party’s caucus that at least one person would whip votes, especially since “third parties” had caucuses of one or two and were usually the most active anyway. You could reasonably turn everyone out who hadn't literally gone into a weekslong coma that way.

It also worked to an extent when the PPT made a habit of PMing senators, contra what Laki said to me a few weeks back.

Neither of those hold true now. I don't think anyone whips for Peace right now and I don't envy whoever ever had that job.

The PPT should PM senators for sure. I did that during my time as acting PPT last year. Wulfric does it as LGC Speaker.

Based on what I'm hearing, I think I'm going to start holding final votes on weekends. I can send everyone PMs as well.
