I found some old posts of one of my emo/hardcore groups and remembered the incident. He gave a mediocre review to an at the time newly released album we were raving about. So for a couple days ANTHONY FANTANO SUCKS was kind of the theme of the group. It was full of memes about how terrible and how much of a moron he is and people digging up older videos of him giving mediocre reviews to albums we loved as proof of how much he sucks.

A few younger (aka Gen Z members) then got upset and really defensive of him often using woke-tinged buzzwords and I even found one saying the group had turned "white supremacist" before they all left.

Again he's a white cis straight male so I don't get that reaction at all.
