And I'm not even talking about the right and Bernie bro leftist types.

Not her biggest fan, but I fail to see what was so awful about her. Not very charismatic, not as progressive as I'd prefer (though, not super moderate either) and took certain states for granted. Everything else is pure noise, imo.

Yes, and a 30-year long smear campaign will do that.

Ask the little girl whose rapist she laughed about defending.

In many ways yes, in terms of how her 2016 campaign was run and in terms of how quick she was to point fingers in the aftermath of the loss however, no.

That was one of the only cool things about her. Being a public defender and willing to defend an awful person and not feeling any shame over it is extremely admirable and far too rare

I'd probably say yes, even though I'm also not a fan.

The moment that demonstrates this might be the Madison Square Garden concert just after 9/11. Various politicians and celebrities spoke at it. Bill Clinton got a good reception, cheers and applauding etc. When Hillary Clinton appeared, it was as if Bin Laden himself had entered the room.

Hillary 2008 was far superior to Hillary 2016.

Nah not really. She gets a bad rap for being creepy, out of touch (pokemon GO TO THE POLLS, still makes me physically cringe), her benghazi stuff and her emails...

It's totally justified

no, she’s a little bit better than Bill but not by much. Like she’s just a representation of the past and a lot of what’s wrong with America and the Democratic party. No new ideas, no actual challenge to the status quo. Bernie in 2016 was right and it’s unfortunate he didn’t end up succeeding.

Pokemon go to the polls was kinda funny though. One of her better moments.

Yes. Whatever her flaws, Biden's 100x worse than her.

To be fair, it depends on the person, for me it was cringey, it was like an older family member bringing up the latest trendy thing among the youth. Thats the vibe I got. Maybe you had a different vibe!

Yes. She would have been a great President.

She would have had the potential to be a solid prez with perhaps better political instincts than Obama, but if elected in 2016, she would largely have presided over the status-quo for reasons beyond her control.

Let's be honest, if she was elected with the 278 freiwall map, the GOP would have maintained control of congress. In a somewhat more favorable scenario, she also flips FL and NC and Dems narrowly retake the senate, at least allowing her a smooth confirmation of her cabinet and confirmation of Scalia's successor (although the GOP might have cleared the way for Garland in the lame duck period then). That said, I don't see her admin in 2017 or 2018 enacting any meaningful legislation. Perhaps she gets something going on foreign policy, but domestically she's left to preserving Obama's legacy. In the 2018 midterms, the GOP would have easily won, stonewalling her entire agenda even further. She most likely ends up losing reelection in 2020.

The reception of 'cringey' moments like this depends on how people already feel about the politician. Because Hillary was unpopular, it was emblematic of everything wrong with her. If Bernie had said it reddit would have gone crazy about how cute and endearing it was.

Yes but low voter turnout in certain states cost her the election.

She always has gotten an unfair bad rap, and would have been president if not for sexism.

She was also a very bad politician, and continues to be, as she continues to evidence on a regular basis whenever she's in the news. Both can be true.

Again, she is not a politician anymore. She is a private citizen with zero f**ks to give.
And of course every time she is viciously attacked by the usual suspects (like with Tulsi Gabbard) it doesn't take long to find out that she is right.

The beliefs that she's the worst person in the world or that the world would end if she was President are nonsense. The belief that she's electorally weak is accurate.

What if someone else had put her on the ticket at some point(pref. 2008)?

Then she would never have been Secretary of State, the Benghazi investigation would never have touched her office, she never would have had emailgate, never had Comey, and we would not have had Trump 2016. Obama, however, could never stomach a female colleague, even reporters were "sweetie" to him, and he never invited female WH staff to his famous basketball games, and Christina Romer felt like a piece of meat instead.

Had he been a little less sexist, then Clinton would've lost in 2020, and Trump would be president today, possibly cruising to re-election. But at least the liberals would have the Court and we would have Roe. Take your pick.
