The Bluegrass State has been a great "BELLWETHER STATE" for upcoming Presidential Elections for the last 20+ years. With the exemption of 1999 when Democrat Paul Patton won the Governors Office and Republican George W. Bush won the Presidency in 2000 the Party that wins the Statehouse in Frankfort usually wins the upcoming Presidential Election that follows.

2003: Ernie Fletcher (R) wins KY Governor / George W. Bush (R) get reelected President in 2004.

2007: Steve Beshear (D) wins KY Governor / Barack Obama (D) wins Presidency in 2008.

2011: Steve Beshear (D) reelected for KY Governor / Barack Obama (D) reelected President in 2012.

2015: Matt Bevin (R) wins KY Governor / Donald J. Trump (R) wins Presidency in 2016.

2019: Andy Beshear (D) wins KY Governor / Joseph R. Biden (D) wins Presidency in 2020.

2023: ... / 2024 President: ...

Is this just a coincidence? I don't think so!

Your thoughts?

MA-GOV also “predicted” which party would win the White House two years later… until it didn’t.

This could also read back in 2019: OH always voted with the winner of a presidential election since 1960.

We could very easily have a scenario this time around where Cameron unseats Beshear in 2023 then Biden gets re-elected in 2024.

The last KY poll had Beshear up 9 and Reeves up 3 Beshesr and Presley are blue dogs like Mary Landrieu

🛑 Dooming on GOV BESHEAR and Gov Elect  Presley chances Shawn Wilson is still in it it's a runoff but likely to lose

This is true until it isn't. It's been a surprising coincidence and pattern thus far, but many bellwethers and conventional wisdoms have evaporated in recent times.

That said, I do expect both Beshear and Biden to win as of today, but they don't necessarily mean anything about the other.

2019, eh: Oooh ooh pick me, pick me...the opposite result of the Louisiana Governor since 1995.

And hey maybe that result was an outlier, the state's going Republican with JBE out anyway...so...
